About
I am an artist working with mixed media and abstraction, based in France, south of Paris. My journey with art began early, taking art as a major subject in school, which led me to study Fine Arts and Art Education at university in Germany. Though I spent years teaching literature in France, the pull of painting never left me — it remained a quiet but persistent presence, waiting for the right moment to reclaim its space in my life.
My work is rooted in abstraction, where visual intuition guides the process. I often start with freely painted, fluid backgrounds on raw, unprimed canvas, embracing its natural texture and organic quality. Using water-based paints, I let colors flow and merge spontaneously, allowing the canvas to absorb and direct the movement. This experimental, almost unpredictable foundation becomes the stage for the next layer: dark, often matte black shapes — suggestive yet undefined — that create a striking contrast with the softness of the background. This interplay between control and unpredictability is central to my art: a balance of structure and gesture.
I work with a deliberately reduced palette, allowing color and form to find their own rhythm. Titles play an essential role in my practice — more than mere labels, they are part of the composition itself. Sometimes invented words, sometimes poetic phrases, they offer subtle narratives and associative spaces, encouraging viewers to engage with the artwork’s meaning while preserving its openness.
Through short videos and glimpses into my studio, I share not just the finished works but the moments of creation — the fluidity of paint, the rawness of canvas, and the present push and pull between movement and stillness.
